28-Feb-13

NINE INCH NAILS, BJORK, The xx, CJ RAMONE, FUN., KILLSWITCH ENGAGE...and more! 28 artists included in first announcement!

The news we've all been waiting for! The first announcement of this summer's Fuji Rock Festival is here!

Nobody saw this one coming. After announcing a hiatus in 2009, Trent Reznor surprised us all by being awarded an Oscar for his score to the film "The Social Network" and releasing an album with new group, "How To Destroy Angels". Now NINE INCH NAILS have reformed, and are set to decend on Fuji Rock! We all look forward to seeing what kind of magic Reznor will bring to Naeba.

And the announcement we have been waiting for ten years to hear - Bjork is coming to Fuji Rock! Both her performance in Tokyo in 1998 and her show in Naeba in 2003 left strong immpressions. She is coming again this year. WE CAN'T WAIT!

Many more exciting artists accompany the announcement of these two amazing headliners. Appearing for the first time at Fuji will be FUN., who after picking up 2 Grammy awards this year, won themselves a legion of new fans after a set of sold out headline shows in Japan. The XX return to Naeba this summer, and are sure to be welcomed back by the festival audience they enchanted with their mesmerising Red Marquee performance in 2010. DJ Shadow also makes a long awaited return to Fuji, with his audio-visual show we all enjoyed at Asagiri Jam two years ago. Much loved act Yo La Tengo will be back this year, and we'll also be welcoming ex-member of the legendary Ramones, CJ Ramone to the stage. After many painful years of waiting since their break up in 2005, the legendary Rocket from the Crypt will reunite for the festival, while drummer Zach Hill and his group Death Grips are set to debut. Hot 8 Brass Band with their weighty New Orleans sound, the very loud Kill Switch Engage, Coheed and Cambria, and more, are in the list of 28 amazing artists included for the first line up announcement of this year's Fuji Rock Festival.
