About the Festival: FAQ
Can I use a tent in the festival site? How about a flysheet, tarpaulin shelter, or parasol?
Tents, tarpaulin shelters, flysheets and parasols are not allowed in the festival site unless in the official campsite.
The increased use of such equipment obstructs other people's view and takes up too much space, leaving others struggling to find a space when it gets busy.
Please do not install any equipment (including tents, parasols, flysheets or tarp shelters) that occupies too much space and obstructs the view of other people.
Baby buggies with or without parasols and foldable chairs (ones that can be put away easily) can be used in the festival site.
Leisure sheets can be used at the far back of the audience area only, especially in the Green stage where use is limited to behind the pathway (mountain side). Please be prepared to put your leisure sheet away when crowded or when you hear an announcement asking you to do so and make sure you take your leisure sheet with you when you leave the area.
If your leisure sheet is left unattended, Festival staff will remove it.
Your co-operation will be appreciated.
Can I use a courier service?
You can send big and/or heavy items to the Festival site in advance. You can send luggages from convenience stores in Japan. Luggage collection service is also available - please contact your nearest Yamato Unyu branch.
Please note:
- One way service only
- Please keep the receipt that you get when you send your luggage and bring it to the festival site
- Your luggage may not be sent depending on its shape and contents.
- The courier service is the contract between you and the courier company and the Festival will not be responsible for any trouble in transportation.

- Hand towels (Handy as sun shade, wipe, cooler, etc.)
- Extra change of clothes (in case of rain, sweat, mud)
- Comfortable shoes (waterproof is better)
- Hat (to avoid sunburn, heat). A must.
- Portable ashtray. A must for a smoker.
- Warm jacket (Gets cold at night. Waterproof parkas can be used as raincoat as well)
- Rubbish bin bag (very useful)
- Pocket tissue (in case there's no toilet paper)
- Instant rescue set (so that you can take care of any minor injuries)
- Leisure sheets and cooler boxes can be brought in to the site, but used only within the guidelines above.
- Torch/Flashlight
A daypack or rucksack is recommended for the above items so that both your hands are free.

Have a great time!!!
Is there any policy about smoking?
Smoking
Fuji Rock Festival, A SEED Japan and Philip Morris Japan will have 'keep Japan beautiful' campaign to promote good manners among smokers.
Please use a portable ashtray and refrain from smoking where your smoke can affect other people. Please do not smoke while walking or in a crowded place. Please be aware of the direction of the wind when you smoke.
Please also note that the front areas / mosh pit of each stage and Kid's Land are all non-smoking.
Can I sleep in a car?
You can but please turn off the engine.
Can I bring my pet?
Pets are not allowed in the festival site.
Is there any ATM?
Not in the festival site and adjacent area. No credit card is accepted in the festival site. Please bring enough cash.
Can I use a credit card?
Credit cards (Visa, Master and debit cards) can be used at Green stage shop (¥5,000 or more) and GANBAN shop (¥3,000 or more). Please tell the cashier you are paying by card as there's no separate checkout for card users. Please be aware that there may be time that cards cannot be used.
Can I bring children?
Primary school age children or under 12 years of age are free to enter the site as long as they are accompanied by their carers.
If you need a nappy/diaper changing and/or nursing place, you can use the rescue tent although we don't supply nappies. However, please refrain from using the rescue tent for the children's rest and you must not leave the children there unaccompanied.
We are planning to have Kid's Land (children's play area) again this year.
Are there lots of insects that I should be aware of?
It is important to be careful about insect bites, use deterrents and if your are allergic seek medical advise before you come.
Bees and wasps
- Don't go near the hives. As long as you don't go near, they won't attack you.
- Be ware of loose fitting clothes as you don't want ants in your pants.
- Avoid yellow or black clothes or hats. Yellow and black stripes are particularly dangerous!
- Avoid strong perfume or cosmetics, we recommend you use insect repellant instead.
- If a bee comes flying around you, move away slowly. Bees are more sensitive to up-down or left-right movements, so avoid sudden movements.
- If you get severely bitten or stung, make sure you get treated in one of the rescue tents, as the worst cases can be life threatening.
Ticks
Ticks here are different from the mites that you find in houses. Ticks suck blood of medium to large animals. If ticks carry viruses when you get in contact with them, it may cause infection. This may result in ill feeling, temperature, bad skin condition and facial palsy.
- Wear fine fabric with smooth surface in bright color.
- Avoid loose fitting clothes and put trouser bottoms into your boots/socks.
- When you get back to your accommodation, check for any trace of bites. Check also your clothes, hair and scalp in case you carried any ticks with you.
- When you find a tick on your skin, don't squash it. Pull it off gently, ideally with tweezers.
- You can see someone in a rescue tent if you find a tick bite.
- If you already have left the Festival site, please ask for advice/help in your local medical institution.
Is it possible to join the festival in a wheel chair?
We welcome people with disabilities and will try to accommodate all your needs in the circumstance of the Festival conditions. If you cannot properly view the performances on stage, please tell the staff in the sound & lighting control booth, so that we can help you get a better view.
